Spawn of the Devil

There she was again, walking beside her shamed mother again. She was so creepy, and weird, and creepy. Pearl, the daughter of the shamed Hester Prynne was taking a walk again. My friends and I were all out in front of shoe shop kicking the ball around when she passed by. We stopped for a moment just to stare at her. When she saw us staring she ran up to us and started yelling at us again. I grabbed my ball and me and my friends made a run for it. After we played ball and all my friends started to leave I began to think more about Pearl.
I don't really know what is wrong with her. It's not like she looks deformed or anything. Just something about the way she carries herself and acts around other people. One moment she looks innocent beyond perpetuity and the next moment the Devil himself was dancing in her eyes. It really just creeps me out. She also has no friends, but that's probably the moms fault, she was the one who made all the bad mistakes. I remember the first time I saw Pearl, I was taking a walk with my mommy. When my mom saw me staring she stopped and looked down at me and said "You see that girl, she is a mistake, a product of sin, a girl who will probably never know her father's name. Avoid talking to her, she is the spawn of the Devil, and no little boy of mine talks with a spawn of the Devil."
I thought about it, according to the Reverend and my mother, I am one of God's children. Pearl is supposed to be a spawn of the Devil, which means the Devil is her real father. But is it wrong for the Devil to have children of his own? God loves all of his children, so wouldn't the Devil love of all his children too? But then again, wasn't the Devil a bad guy? So could bad guys love their children? I thought about it for a moment. Most parents love their children, no matter what, so wouldn't the Devil end up loving his children too. I decided that even though she was a spawn of the Devil and I was a son of God, maybe it wasn't the end of the world. She has a different daddy, but he loves her too.
