  Hello, my name is Reverend Arthur Dimmesdale and if you are reading this then I have long passed into either the fiery abyss of Hell, or if God permitted me, into the beautiful bliss of Heaven. I was born and raised in my beautiful homeland of England. When I moved to America, I did not know what to expect. I was greeted with warm welcomes and open arms and became part of your family. Many of you know me as a man of powerful words and a servant of God. I just want everyone to know, I loved all of you with all my heart and I am honored that my words could touch you in the most beautiful and profound way imaginable. I hope you keep them inside your soul and pass them on and don't make the same mistakes I made. I am the lover of Hester Prynne and the father of Pearl Prynne. I hid the truth from you all, and it brought a burden upon my heart unlike one I had ever felt before. In the end, if I am to die, it will be from this. I leave whatever possessions I have to my daughter and her mother. I hope you all find it in your heart to forgive her for her sins. Pearl is not the spawn of the Devil, she is my child, and unless I am the Devil in another form, I hope you can learn to love her too.
